Next up in the series, we had one of the faculties very best, Dr. Rene Breault, come onto the podcast to discuss the exciting opportunities provided by an academic rotation. Dr. Breault received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Alberta in 1998. Following graduation, he worked with AHS at the University of Alberta Hospital for just over a decade. It was not until 2010 that he decided to pursue further education by getting his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Toronto. As a pharmacist, Dr. Breault achieved a variety of honors, one of which was being one of the first 15 pharmacists in Alberta to be granted Additional Prescribing Authorization in 2007. He’s also been the President of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists Alberta Branch, serving from 2019 to 2020. Apart from his teaching duties, he currently works in a hypertension and dyslipidemia clinic operating out of the University of Alberta Hospital. When he’s not busy influencing the next generation of great pharmacists, Dr. Breault enjoys making a great gin martini!
It’s always a pleasure to talk with Dr. Breault and this episode was no exception. We hope you guys enjoy listening to our conversation!
