The J & J Pharmacy Podcast

On today's podcast, we are joined by Navjot Singh, a third year pharmacy student and VP academic for the 2020-21 school year. During this episode, we focused the discussion around the issues regarding systemic racism in healthcare and in society. We also talked about what we can do as a student body and faculty to help combat racism, what the goals of the newly formed Race Against Racism Committee are, and finally what the committee is planning to do in the coming months.

In this episode, Jared and John speak with Scott about how he’s been handling lockdown, what he had hoped to achieve as acting APSA president, his time in the PharmD Bridging Program, and finally his hopes and dreams as he moves toward his last year of pharmacy school.

It’s been a while but Jared and John are back with another episode! This week, they interviewed John...Dr. John Ussher that is, the always hilarious and hard-working pharmacology professor at the University of Alberta. In this podcast, we find out how Dr. Usher is handling isolation at home, we learn more about his journey into research and teaching, and finally he leaves us with some wise words during these trying and uncertain times and a message to the class of 2020.
 

On today’s episode, Jared and John get to talk with the ever charismatic Dr. Carlos Velazquez! In it, Dr. Velazquez gets deep into how the Corona virus has affected his personal and work life. We also find out what the origin story of the famous line is. Finally, Dr. Velazquez gets serious and describes ongoing efforts by the University of Alberta to help with the pandemic situation and encourages everyone to stay strong and motivated during these trying times.

In this episode, Jared and John talk with Nick about being Class Representative, how he’s dealing with the pandemic situation, and what he looks forward to in the summer.
